About
Relationship-Focused Care
Our Mission
You’re more than just your teeth. Chronic health issues, dietary choices, and many other parts of your overall health can influence your dental health. Thanks to his training with the Pankey Institute, Dr. Jared Homan understands this, and is able to provide the quality care you need for a healthy mouth and a healthy body, too. We focus on individualized, relationship-based dental care for patients of all ages. Interested? Get in touch to book an appointment and see what sets Homan Family Dentistry apart.
Putting Patients First
Get to Know Dr. Homan
Dr. Jared Homan was born and raised in Omaha and is a proud Nebraskan. One of three triplets, he diverged from his siblings and chose to become a dentist rather than an internal medicine physician. He made this decision after shadowing both doctors and dentists while attending Hillsdale College for his undergraduate education.
Dr. Homan loved the way that dentists got to see their patients regularly, build real relationships, and contribute to their overall health and well-being. So after graduating with his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, he returned to Omaha to attend Creighton University and obtain his dental degree. After graduating, Dr. Homan was inspired to operate his own dental practice in Omaha, the community that made him the man and the dentist he is today.
As a dentist, Dr. Homan focuses on building real relationships with patients. From extended oral exams to detailed discussions about their overall health, each and every patient gets the best quality of care. This approach to dentistry is inspired by Dr. Homan’s continuing studies with the Pankey Institute. This postgraduate education program focuses on individualized care that considers each patient’s whole-body health, not just their teeth.
Outside of the office, Dr. Homan’s newborn son, John, keeps him and his wife Katie busy. They also both enjoy going to Nebraska football games. You’ll also see Dr. Homan at various Creighton Bluejay sporting events. Dr. Homan also loves spending time outdoors in the Omaha area, including hiking, cycling, and golf.
Dr. Homan loves to travel and has been to Australia to work with a professional rugby team. He’s also participated in a mission trip to Tanzania, where he provided dental care to people in need and children in orphanages.
Committed To Compassionate Care
Meet the Team
Great care starts with a great team. And that’s exactly what we’ve got at Homan Family Dentistry. From our reception team to our dental assistants and hygienists, everyone at our office will make you and your family feel welcome. Take a look at the smiling faces you’ll meet below!
What To Expect
From Your First Dental Visit
We do new patient exams a little bit differently than other dentists. Instead of a brief exam combined with a cleaning, we schedule each appointment separately. First, you’ll book your first visit with our staff. Our team will take X-rays, and then Dr. Homan will perform a comprehensive exam which can take between 50-90 minutes.
This exam includes a detailed evaluation of your dental health as well as your overall health history, a head and neck exam, and a TMJ evaluation. Of course, he will also carefully check your teeth and gums for signs of common oral health issues like cavities and gingivitis.
Once that’s done, Dr. Homan will discuss his findings with you, and any treatments that may be necessary to improve your oral health. If everything looks good, you’ll be ready for your cleaning.
We’ll schedule your cleaning in a separate appointment. Again, our cleanings take up to 60 minutes and are extremely thorough, unlike the typical 15-20 minute cleanings that most patients are used to. We promise that it’s worth spending a little more time at Homan Family Dentistry to get truly exceptional dental care!
